Why We Exist
Are you familiar with the rush of adrenaline that surges when your favourite team hits the ice or field? The heartbreak of a tough loss, the exhilaration of victory, the emotion that fuels fans from all walks of life – from former pros to everyday die-hards. For some, sports are entertainment. For others, they’re therapy.
For us at Untapped North, they’re a way of life.
We are the few who live and breathe the game. And we built this platform to reflect that passion.

🎙️ Andrew Stuetz
Co-Founder – President of Media Relations
Sault Ste. Marie, ON
Born and raised in Sault Ste. Marie, ON, Andrew brings a rare combination of storytelling, performance, and sports insight to the table.
Before earning diplomas in Sports Journalism, Journalism, and First Peoples Indigenous Studies, Andrew studied at the Randolph Academy for the Performing Arts in Toronto and performed across Canada and Florida with FEVER International Dance Championships.
He has represented Canada at the World Showdance Championships in Germany, performed in dozens of local productions, and brought that same creative energy to his media work.
In 2019, he founded Untapped North – turning a dream into a platform that continues to grow under his leadership alongside co-founder Corey Rainone.

Co-Founder – President of IT Communications & Business Strategy
Sault Ste. Marie, ON
Corey Rainone brings a rare blend of business acumen, tech know-how, and relentless drive to the core of Untapped North’s operations. With over $13 million in regional sales before joining the media world, Corey has a deep understanding of what it takes to scale an idea from concept to traction.
He joined Untapped North in late 2020 and immediately began shaping its digital future. Starting with a clunky and chaotic early version of the website, Corey rebuilt the platform from the ground up – migrating to WordPress, deploying essential plugins, and custom-developing features tailored for sports fans who crave more than just headlines.
“My goal was simple – to make Untapped North feel like it belonged beside the best names in sports media. That meant adding real-time stats, building smarter tools, and creating an experience that fans would actually use.”
As lead architect of the backend, Corey has been instrumental in launching:

But above all, Corey’s vision has always been bigger than just code. It’s about community, accessibility, and redefining what a regional media outlet can become when powered by innovation.
